Well with a mess of rotting bananas and a brand new baking set what do you think I did? Ok, not much a a stretch is it? Banana Bread was on the menu for breakfast on Sunday... The ingredients:
5 Really Ripe Bananas
1/4 cup melted Butter
1 cup sugar
2 cups Flour
3/4 cup chopped walnuts
1/4 cup almonds (toasted)
3/4 cups chocolate chips
I put the bananas in a large and beat them with a wooden spoon then added the butter, sugar and egg and mixed them together pretty well. I put the flour and baking powder into a sifter and sifted that into the mixture then added the chocolate chips. My children believe that all nuts are the work of the devil so I took a couple of scoops out now and put them in muffin cups then added the almonds and walnuts mixed. I pored this into a lightly sprayed silicone baking pan and popped that into an oven that I had heated to 350. It took a little more than an hour until until it was done. I know there are more subtle ways to tell but I still poke it with a knife and when it comes out clean I know it is done.
Here it is pretty and blue... Looking all Star Trekie
Maybe I will start a "Cooking with the Horta" series.
